"still love these after 20+ years" 2010-05-14

I have been eating these for years and still love them. This is my favorite variety and if you love peanut butter, you'll love it also. Very crunchy and a good mid-day snack, certainly better an a candy bar or the other stuff available in most office vending machines. Great for road trips. Is there anything these bars can't do? ;)

For an earlier reviewer, I don't see anywhere on the package where it is claimed that this is a "health food". However, whole grains should be an important part of our diets, and I'll bet your Girl Scout cookies and the Nutter Butters are not made with whole grains. I love peanut butter and I really appreciate how much peanut butter flavor there in these granola bars, but the calories per serving are only 180. For anyone who has never had a Nature Valley granola bar, they come 2 in a pouch and 2 are considered one serving. In size I would say the pouch would equal 4 small/medium cookies. A tip on the crunchiness: These almost crumble when you bite into them, and depending on where you are eating, that can be inconvenient. Here is what I do with ALL of the NV granola bars, whether I'm at a table, in a recliner, or driving down the road. First, I break both the bars into 3 crosswise. I then break each of those thirds once, crosswise. Then I open the pouch along the lengthwise seam. There are far fewer "crumbs" left in the pouch then you would have created preparing to and eating them any other way I can think of.
Thank you AMAZON, and thanks for the new subscription service. I live in a very remote area and it is a real crap shoot what flavors will be in the stores any given week.
"Best Peanut Butter Granola Bars" 2009-10-22
By Kate
These are the best peanut butter granola bars I've ever found. I'm pretty much a peanut butter addict, so I have tried a lot of peanut butter things, but most granola bars don't really have very much peanut butter taste. These are perfect.
They are the crunchy kind of granola bars though, so keep that in mind. Each package has two granola bars in it, so when a box says it has 12 bars, it really has 6 packages of 2 bars each. That's the only thing I don't like...it seems kind of cheating.
But, I do love these and recommend them if you like peanut butter.
"A great snack, better than a candy bar, and better for you" 2009-09-07
By Kurt A. Johnson (North-Central Illinois, USA)
In 1975, Nature Valley brought out their granola bars - not too tasty, but handy, just right for hikers, bikers, and families on the go. Well, granola bars haven't been left behind, like so many things they have evolved and improved. Like all granola bars this one contains a great mix of grains (including oats and rice) and nut flours, and is flavored with that old standby - peanut butter.
The Nature Valley Crunchy Peanut Butter bars come two to a package and are delicious. The two bar serving contains 180 calories (60 calories from fat) and 30g of carbohydrates. So, this isn't diet food, but it is a great snack for people needing a quick and convenient pick-me-up, or can be combined with fruit for a quick and delicious breakfast. My family and I highly recommend this great snack!
